Kawaii Check is mainly for international visitors to Akihabara and Kabukicho. In English, Traditional Chinese and Korean, we show what each concept café and girls bar is like, what the total bill comes to, and whether foreigners are welcome, so you can choose a place without worrying about the language or the price.

We also value reviews from local visitors in Japan. Reviews in any language are translated automatically, so honest experiences from Japanese regulars help international visitors too, and the site is fully available in Japanese as well.

We list places based on public information such as official websites and official social media. Listings are free. Shops that want their listing removed can contact us.

• “Prices confirmed by the shop”: the shop checked these prices. We show the date they were confirmed.
• “Prices researched by us”: we collected these from public information. They may be out of date.
• The total bill calculator gives an estimate. Always check the actual prices at the shop.

Whether a place welcomes international visitors is something we ask each shop directly, and we show the date we asked. Policies can change, so if you’re unsure, ask at the entrance.

• Low ratings are published as long as they follow the guidelines.
• “Our visit report” is written by our team after actually visiting.
• Reviews are translated automatically by AI. You can always see the original text.
• We never change rankings or how reviews are shown in exchange for money.
